Hi! My name is Berlin. Let me share with you a bit more about my music background.

I first started piano when I was 5 but a year later, I stopped learning. However, I find myself still having a liking to music and singing. Thus, I picked up the classical guitar for a few years and joined school choirs and professional choirs and choruses for many years.

Over the course of my studies, I grew more and more interested in singing and thus, I began learning singing and the piano during my teenage years. After many grueling practices and hard work, I have achieved a good amount of foundation and skill set that allowed me to achieve my Grade 8 in piano as well as theory.

After my O levels, I enrolled into Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA), and graduated with a Diploma in Music, majoring in Voice Performance. The 3 years of music studies equipped me with many in-depth knowledge of music that are invaluable, which later helped me in many areas of my music teaching.

It is also during my NAFA days where I was exposed to different performance opportunities, professional choirs and have a variety of experience in the music scene in Singapore, working with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra. Not only that, I had the opportunity to conduct group music classes in schools as well.

As a singing teacher, I constantly seek to upgrade myself. Hence, I immerse myself in my songwriting hobby, writing songs with my guitar and singing pop songs that expresses my emotions. Here’s my personal motto that keeps my passion going,

“Teaching is more than methods and techniques, it is about making a difference.”
