Hi, I’m Reginald. Or you can call me Reggie, which is what most of my students called me.
I started my music journey at the age of 13 with the St Patrick’s School Military Band as a Saxophonist. Music was always a very much enjoyable outlet for me, and it quickly turned into a passion. I was appointed Section Leader and started learning to teach the Saxophone section at the age of 14.
With a keen interest in teaching, I have also taken up pedagogical courses as part of my music diploma studies the the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA).
I continued my music education by pursuing vocal arts as a classical tenor, and have since graduated with a Bachelor of Music (Hons) with the Royal College of Music (London).
I started teaching music while I’m doing my bachelor studies, and I enjoy every moment of teaching so far. I strive to make music learning fun and engaging for every student, by customizing my lessons based on their strengths and weaknesses.
Aside from the practical aspect of music, I believe music theory is also an essential part of nurturing oneself into an all rounded accomplished musician.
I have prepared students for their university-level/tertiary auditions both locally (LaSalle) and abroad (US school) and they have successfully gotten a place.
As a teacher, it brings me great joy to share my knowledge and passion in music with my students.
When I’m not teaching, you may see me performing in different live events – be it as a vocalist of a saxophonist.
Trained as a classical tenor, I had sung with both the Singapore Symphony Choir and Singapore Symphony Orchestra. I was also invited to perform as a guest-singer at formal functions, and also performed overseas in collaboration with universities internationally.
Sometimes, you may see me on live TV too!
I believe that everyone should be given the opportunity to experience the joy of music making, both as a student or a performer.
Hope to see you in my class where I will impart my years of knowledge in singing and performing to you.
